Sentai Filmworks Licenses Student Council's Discretion Lv.2

Sequel to 2009 anime by AIC streamed on Crunchyroll in 2013

Sentai Filmworks announced on Thursday that it has licensed the anime Student Council's Discretion Lv. 2. The company plans to release the series digitally and on home video.
The series premiered in Japan in 2013 and is a sequel to Student Council's DiscretionCrunchyroll streamedthe series as it aired in Japan.
Sentai Filmworks describes the story:
Sometimes you have to think outside the box, but Hekiyo Academy's Student Council may go a step further and rewrite their entire universe! At least, that's what could happen as the second season gets underway and the Council decides that their own anime might need a little spicing up. Should they introduce new characters? Add a boy's love subplot? Or should they just continue to do what worked previously and spend most of their time chattering between themselves while working towards odd goals that might turn out to have been a little misguided in retrospect? Theanswer is “yes” to all of the above and more: Class barriers and the fourth wall come tumbling down as a supporting character literally takes up the challenge of moving up to main character status. The plot thickens with the mystery of a missing cake. The boundaries of love between step-siblings get pushed just a few steps beyond what's socially comfortable and there just has to be a hot springs episode, doesn't there? Of course there does! Join 5 student council members in search of an author as the storyline runs amok in Student Council's Discretion Lv. 2!
The anime studio AIC produced the new series instead of the first anime's Studio DEENKenichi Imaizumi (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) directed the new anime with series script editor Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!Bakuman.Kimi to Boku), instead of Takuya Satō and Jukki Hanada for the same roles in the 2009 anime version. Masahito Onoda(animation director for Strike Witches 2Natsu-iro Kiseki) also replaced Kumi Horii as character designer.
Additionally, Yuka Saitou, who originally played Chizuru Akaba in the first series, wasreplaced by Mina (Heaven's Lost Property's Sohara Mitsuki, Is This a Zombie?'s Kanami Mihara). Yuki Horinaka, who originally played Mafuyu Shiina, was replaced byIori Nomizu (Heaven's Lost Property's Nymph, Cat Planet Cuties' Antonia).
The series is based on Sekina Aoi's light novel series, which began publication in 2008. H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~ manga artist Kira Inugami draws the illustrations in the novels. The comedy revolves around Ken Sugisaki, a boy who becomes part of the student council of his private high school. He is the only boy on the council, where he is surrounded by cute girls.
The series premiered on Niconico in October, but will also be broadcast on television starting on January 9.
Crunchyroll streamed the first Student Council's Discretion anime in 2010. Sentai Filmworks announced it licensed the first season in November and its slated forrelease in March.
