Prince of Stride Alternative Anime's Theme Song Artists Revealed

Masayoshi Ōishi x Tom-H@ck perform opening, voice actor unit "Galaxy Standard" performs ending

The official website for Prince of Stride Alternative, the television anime of Kadokawa's otome game Prince of Stride,announced the anime's theme song artists on Sunday. OxT (Masayoshi Ōishi x Tom-H@ck) will perform the opening theme song "Strider's High." The unit "Galaxy Standard" made up of voice actors from the anime's Saisei High School Stride Club will perform the ending theme song "Be My Steady." The voice actors include: Mamoru Miyano, Daisuke Hirakawa, Takuya Eguchi, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Yuuki Ono, and Toshiyuki Toyonaga.

The single for the opening theme song will ship on February 3 with a specially drawn anime jacket. The single for the ending theme song will ship on February 10 with a jacket specially drawn by FiFS.

The official website also revealed the anime character designs for the Saisei High School Stride Club (see images in cast list below).

Shūji Sogabe [FiFS] is credited with the original design works for the series. Kanako Nono [FiFS] is credited with the original character design, and Tomoyuki Uchikoga is credited with the original graphic design. Atsuko Ishizuka (Hanayamata, No Game, No Life, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou) is directing the series at MADHOUSE. Taku Kishimoto (Silver Spoon, Haikyu!!, Bunny Drop) is handling the series composition, and Kokunen Ou (Hanayamata) is adapting Nono's character designs for animation.

The series will premiere in January.

The original game revolves around "Stride," an extreme sport that involves six people on one team who run relay races through towns. Hōnan Academy and other schools compete to win eastern Japan's top Stride competition, "End of Summer."

The series revolves around a closed-down "Stride" club at Hōnan Academy. First-year high school students Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai attempt to restart the club, but they must recruit six members for the team. They ask Riku Yagami to join, but he turns them down by saying that Stride is the one thing he doesn't want to do. However, Takeru and Nana drag Riku into the clubroom to try to convince him.

Kadokawa Games released the game for the PlayStation Vita on July 30. The game franchise also includes a "visual novel series" (light novels with many illustrations) by various authors and a drama CD. Kadokawa released the fourth visual novel in the series on August 21.

Teruko Arai will launch the Prince of Stride: Galaxy Rush manga side story in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine on November 27.

Biohazard Umbrella Corps Game's 1st Trailer Streamed

New trailer reveals story, new weapons for game available in early 2016 in N. America, Europe, Japan

CAPCOM began streaming the first trailer for its upcoming third-person shooter game Umbrella Corps on Wednesday. The video highlights some of the weapons and equipment available to the players, including: the Zombie Beil, Analog Cover, Zombie Eisen, Zombie Shield, and Zombie Jammer.

CAPCOM streamed a gameplay video for the game last month

Umbrella Corps is scheduled for a PlayStation 4 and PC release in North America, Europe, and Japan in early 2016. Although the game is set within the Resident Evil/Biohazard universe, it will only have a minimal story and will focus more on competitive multiplayer combat.

Show By Rock!! TV Anime Gets Sequel, New Short Anime

1st 12-episode series inspired by smartphone game premiered in April

The official website for Sanrio's Show By Rock!! TV anime series announced on Sunday that the show is getting a sequel, as well as a new short anime. The Twitter account for the franchisestated that it would announce the "broadcast information" for each of the works at a later date. The website features a key visual with the tagline: "I believe. In music, and in my friends, and in the future."

Sanrio began distributing the game developed by geechs for iOS and Android in 2012. The game is free to play, but has in-game items that can be purchased.

Sanrio previously described the story of the original game as follows:

Metropolis of music, MIDICITY. A kitty girl wearing gothic lolita clothing named Cyan is scouted by Maple Arisugawa, the president of a music agency. From there, she meets Chuchu (a pun off of the sound that rabbits make) the honor student rabbit girl, a net geek dog girl named Retoree (from "Retriever"), and an alien sheep (?) girl named Moa. Together, they form the band named "Plasmagica," and aim for the top of the world.

However, the path there is long and tough, and keeping in high spirits is important. By battling against other strange bands, Plasmagica slowly grows toward a top-grade band. In the end, they'll be a band that becomes the driving force of MIDICITY's music industry... Maybe?

Gonna be a music millionaire!

The game inspired a 12-episode television anime series in April, and Funimation streamed the series as it aired with both English subtitles and an English dub.

The game is also inspiring a musical in February that will feature the franchise's Shingan Crimsonz four-member visual kei band as the main characters.

Saban Denies Netflix Exclusivity for 24th Power Rangers Season

Production company refutes claim that series will move from Nickelodeon to Netflix

Saban Brands told the entertainment news website Den of Geek on Wednesday that "there is no accuracy to the report that Power Rangers is moving exclusively to Netflix in 2017." The film news website Collider had reported last Saturday that the 24th season of the Power Rangers series will move away from Nickelodeon and debut as a Netflix exclusive title in 2017.

Nickelodeon has aired Power Rangers since its return to television in 2011 and is currently airing Power Rangers Dino Charge. The 22nd season is based on Toei's Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger series. Saban Brands'agreements with Nickolodeon and Bandai America will continue until 2016.

The Shuriken Sentai Nin'ninger special-effects series premiered in February, and marks the 40th anniversary of Toei's Super Sentai franchise. The story takes place after The Last Ninjer sealed away all the yōkai in the world. This lasted until The Last Ninjer's death, when the yōkai returned. His descendants, five cousins, battle the yōkai as the Nin'ninger.

A Power Rangers film is slated for January 13, 2017. Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) is on board to direct the film. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are penning the Power Rangers script. The two writers previously wrote the X-Men: First Class and Thor films. Saban Brands' Brian Casentini and Lionsgate's Allison Shearmur are producing the film.

The film project previously cast Becky Gomez as the Yellow Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, and R.J. Cyler as the Blue Ranger.
