The Testament of Sister New Devil 2nd Season's Promo Video Posted

2nd season based on Tetsuto Uesu's light novel series to premiere in October

Kadokawa began streaming the first promotional video on Wednesday for The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST, the second season of The Testament of Sister New Devil television anime series. The second season will premiere in October.
The "rather risque battle action" story centers around Basara Tōjō, a first-year high school studentwho is flustered by a sudden question by his eccentric father, "Hey, didn't you used to say you wanted a little sister?" In addition, his father announces that he is getting remarried. His father brings over two beautiful step-sisters, but then embarks on an overseas trip. However, the two sisters Mio and Maria Naruse are actually a novice devil and succubus.
Basara almost ends up forming a dangerous servant and master contract with them, but due to an error, the contract becomes reversed, and Basara becomes the master instead. To add to things, erotic situations continuously start to happen in Basara's life. However, it turns out Mio is having her life targeted by other monsters and heroes. And so, the "desire/action" tale of the strongest contracter begins.
Crunchyroll streamed the first season by Production IMS in various territories as it aired. Miyako is serializing the manga adaptation of the original light novel series by Tetsuto Uesu (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero) in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for North America, and will ship the first volume in February 2016.
The seventh volume of the manga in Japan will bundle an original anime Blu-ray Disc on January 26, 2016.
Kadokawa will release the first Blu-ray/DVD volume of the show's first season on March 27. The volume will include a short story from original light novel author Tetsuto Uesu, special illustrations by Nekosuke Okuma and Yoshihiro Watanabe, and cut scenes not shown in the TV broadcast.

Sony Pictures Acquire Live-Action Robotech Film Rights

Producers, writer of 300 involved as rights move from Warner Bros.

The entertainment trade news source Variety reported on Wednesday that Sony Pictures has acquired the live-action film rights to the Robotech property, and "views the project as a potential film franchise."
The Deadline website reported in February that the "Hollywood Gang" producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton (300The Immortals) had hired Michael Gordon (300 screenplay, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra story) to write the script. Variety reports that Sony Pictures EntertainmentGroup President Doug Belgrad, Columbia Pictures Production Chief Michael De Luca, and Sony Pictures Vice President of Creative Production Matthew Milam will oversee the project. The executive producers include Harmony Gold founder Frank Agrama, Gordon, and Jehan Agrama.
Robotech was Harmony Gold's edited and rewritten 1985 adaptation of three separate anime science-fiction series: The Super Dimension Fortress MacrossThe Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada. The producers have yet to announce which, if any, of the three anime that the proposed live-action project will most follow, or how it will deal with the copyright dispute between Harmony Gold's partner Tatsunoko Production and the creators of Macross (the most popular of the three anime).
The proposed live-action film was first announced in 2007 with actor Toby Maguire involved atWarner Brothers. In 2008, Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost ArkThe Empire Strikes Back) was attached to the project as scriptwriter, with Charles Roven (Afro SamuraiThe Dark Knightand Akive Goldsman joining as producers. In 2009, British TV writer Tom Rob Smith was slated to write the film's story. In the same year, Roven backed out of the project for undisclosed reasons. In 2013, Warner Bros. was in talks to hire director Nic Mathieu to helm the film.
The adaptation has inspired several American projects such as the Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles sequel project (pictured above). ADV Films and A&E Networks Home Entertainment released the 1985 series on DVD in North America. Harmony Gold launched a Kickstarter campaign for a Robotech Academy pilot last July, which was eventually cancelled.
