Hamatora Manga to End Next Month

Multimedia project includes Yukinori Kitajima & artist Yūki Kodama's manga, anime, game, play, novels

This year's 50th issue of Shueisha's Young Jumpmagazine is announcing on Wednesday that Yukinori Kitajima and Yūki Kodama's Hamatora manga will end in next year's second issue, which will ship on December 11. Kitajima and Kodamalaunched the series last November. Shueisha shipped the second compiled volume in July.

The story follows partners Nice and Murasaki who form a detective agency called "Hamatora" in Yokohama in 2014 — but their "office" is a table at Cafe Nowhere where they and their friends wait for clients. An old acquaintance of theirs, a cop named Art, hires them for a serial murder case he is investigating, and they discover that the murder victims are all "Minimum Holders." As Minimum Holders themselves, Nice and Murasaki are drawn into this case, whether they like it or not.

Kodama and Natsu Matsumai created the multimedia project's original story concepts for the anime version, and "Cafe Nowhere" drafted the original story. Kitajima is credited with the project composition, and Kodama also drafted the original character designs.

The project included the manga, the Hamatora and Re:␣Hamatora anime series,Hamatora: Look at Smoking World 3DS game, a stage play, and novels penned by Kenichi Fujiwara and illustrators Kayano Tomizawa, Emiko Okada, and NAZ.

Crunchyroll streamed both anime series as they aired in Japan.
