The Pokemon Company announced on Wednesday that over one million copies of the Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire 3DS games have been pre-ordered in Japan. Last year's Pokémon X & Y games received 1.26 million pre-orders in Japan and went on to sell more than 13 million copiesworldwide.
The new titles will remake the Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, which shipped in 2002 in Japan and 2003 in North America and went on to sell more than 16 million copies worldwide.
The Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire games are slated to ship in Japan, North America, and Australia on November 21, followed by Europe on November 28. An anime short based on the games will air in Japan on Sunday.
