Project had anime tie-in that streamed in the app
The official website for Toei Animation and Gust's Augmented Reality Girls Trinary(Kakuchō Shōjo-Kei Trinary) "anime cross-link role-playing game" smartphone collaboration project announced on Wednesday that the app will end service on August 31 at 3:00 p.m. JST.
The app ceased selling most sets of the in-game "jewel" currency on Wednesday, though it will still sell a jewel set as "free jewels" until July 31. Those who still have the original paid jewels when service ends will be reimbursed in accordance with the law, but the free jewels will not be covered.
The app debuted on iOS and Android devices in April 2017, and it included an anime that streamed weekly within the app. The anime's final episode streamed in late 2017.
Akira Tsuchiya (Gust's Ar Tonelico, Ciel Nosurge) produced the project and was also in charge of the original plan. Itsuro Kawasaki (Arc the Lad, Samurai Jam -Bakumatsu Rock-) directed the anime side at studio feel. neco designed the anime side's original characters, and Tomoyuki Shitaya (Bakuman.) and Masakazu Yamazaki (Medaka Box Abnormal) adapted those characters for animation. Kazuho Hyodo (ReLIFE, Robot Girls Z) and Tsuchiya handled the series composition. Takeshi Nakatsuka (Brothers Conflict) composed the music. Toei Animation and KOEI Tecmo Games were in charge of production.
The story centers on five girls who fight with a special mission in the plane of existence on the other side of the screen. The setting of the story is the metropolitan area of the Japanese capital after it was beset by a certain abnormality.
