Shishō 2chan Novels Get TV Anime, Live-Action Film, TV Drama

Kamen Rider Gaim actor Mahiro Takasugi plays main character in adaptations of series that began in 2003

The Shishō (Master Teacher) series, a series of supernatural novels posted on the internet forum2channel (2chan) by author Uni is inspiring a live-action film, live-action drama, and TV anime series in 2016 as part of a larger project. The live-action film will be a hybrid of both live-action and anime.
18-year old actor Mahiro Takasugi (Kamen Rider Gaim) will serve as the project's image character. The actor commented on his role in the project, saying, “I'm very happy I can be this project'simage character, since it combines both anime and live-action."
The project was announced with a promotional video:
Atsushi Shimizu (Nana to Kaoru live-action film) will serve as director on the project, and Chiaki Konaka (Serial Experiments LainMagic User's Club) will provide the scripts. Kinji Yoshimoto will serve as animation director at animation Studio Pierrot Plus. Naoyuki Asano is designing the characters, and Studio Easter is providing the backgrounds. Shintaro Nozaki is credited as animation production producer, and Yuzo Hayashi will compose the music.
The story of the original novels revolves around a protagonist (played by Takasugi in the project) who experiences various spiritual encounters due to his upperclassman at his college's club, the "master teacher" in the series title that has spiritual sensitivity. Uni began posting chapters of the story in 2003, and over one hundred chapters have been posted as of press time. The story has been adapted into a manga series titledShisho Series (seen left), and the series has been running inShonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine in 2013 with art by Shū Katayama.
