2nd Wild Adapter OVA Slated for September

Promo video previews "Kou" episode originally slated for 2014

The official website for the original video anime (OVA) adaptation of Kazuya Minekura's Wild Adapter manga began streaming a fourth promotional video on Friday. The video reveals that the second and final episode, titled "Kou," is slated to ship in Japan on September 30.
The episode was originally slated to ship last November, but it was delayed. The first episode, "Zen," shipped in March 2014.
The second episode's limited edition release will cost 9,500 yen (about US$76) and include a special DVD sleeve case with an exclusive illustration by Minekura, audio commentaries by Morikawa and Ishikawa, a special CD with character and cast messages and an original drama specially written by Minekura, an exclusive booklet, a picture label, and two bromide cards.
The manga went on hiatus in January due to Minekura's health and resumed in March.
In Minekura's (Saiyuki) original manga, a young gang leader named Makoto Kubota (voiced byToshiyuki Morikawa) takes in Minoru Tokitō (Hideo Ishikawa), a boy with a mysterious past. Minoru has been exposed to the drug "W.A.," which has transformed his right arm into a monstrous limb. The two investigate the origins of the drug that is devastating the city's underground.
The series launched in Tokuma Shoten's bimonthly Chara magazine in 2001 and switched toIchijinsha Zero-Sum Ward magazine in 2013. The manga transferred to Ichijinsha's Zero-Sum Online when Zero-Sum Ward ceased publication in May. The characters of Wild Adapter had appeared in Minekura's Shiritsu Araiso Kōtōgakkō Seitokai Shikkōbu (Araiso Private High School Student Council Executive Committee) manga and its 2002 video anime adaptation.
Tokyopop licensed the Wild Adapter manga in 2006 for release in North America. The company published six volumes before closing its North American publishing division in 2011.
