Lawless, Licht voiced in anime of Strike Tanaka's vampire manga
The September issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine confirmed on Wednesday that Ryohei Kimura and Nobunaga Shimazaki will join the cast of the anime of Strike Tanaka's Servamp manga.
Kimura will voice Lawless (left), and Shimazaki will voice Licht Jekylland Todoroki (right). They are also on an August 26 character CD that was unveiled last month:
The anime's previously announced voice cast includes:
- Takuma Terashima as Mahiru Shirota, a first-year high school student
- Yuuki Kaji as Kuro, a servant vampire
- Hiro Shimono as Misono Arisuin, a first-year high school student and Lily's master
- Kazuma Horie as Snow Lily
In addition, the Oricon Style website reports that Tatsuhisa Suzuki will play the vampire Tsubaki. The website also reports that the anime will air on television.
Seven Seas is releasing the manga in North America, and it published the second compiled book volume in June. The company describes the story:
When a stray black cat named Kuro crosses Mahiru Shirota's path, the high school freshman's life will never be the same again. Kuro is, in fact, no ordinary feline, but a servamp: a servant vampire. While Mahiru's personal philosophy is one of non-intervention, he soon becomes embroiled in an ancient, altogether surreal conflict between vampires and humans.
Tanaka launched the series in Monthly Comic Gene in 2011. Kadokawa published the seventh compiled volume in Japan in December, and it shipped the eighth compiled volume on July 27.
The manga has previously inspired two drama CDs with the following cast:
- Takuma Terashima as Mahiru Shirota
- Yuuki Kaji as Kuro
- Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Tsubaki
- Hiro Shimono as Misono Arisuin
- Kazuma Horie as Snow Lily
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Licht Jekylland Todoroki
- Ryohei Kimura as Lawless
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Belkia
- Yuuki Ono as Tetsu Sendagaya
- Ayumu Murase as Hugh
- Toshinari Fukamachi as Sakuya Watanuki
