Final Fantasy XV to Launch Worldwide Simultaneously

1st mainline FF game with simultaneous global launch

Director Hajime Tabata told the Gamespot website at Gamescom last week that Final Fantasy XV will be the first packaged, standalone Final Fantasy game to launch worldwide simultaneously. Tabata explained that Square Enix "didn't have the setup to deal with that, really. The first thing we had to do was rearrange our internal structure to create something that could do that."
Tabata also confirmed with Gamespot that Square Enix plans to release the game after 2015 and before 2017. Gamescom debuted two trailers for the game, including one featuring the enemy Malboro:
Square Enix originally announced Final Fantasy XV as Final Fantasy Versus XIII in 2006, untilSquare Enix changed its name in 2013. Tetsuya Nomura originally helmed the project, until Hajime Tabata (Final Fantasy Type-0replaced him last September. Square Enix released a playable demo of the game titled Final Fantasy XV -Episode Duscae- bundled with the collector's edition of Square Enix's Final Fantasy Type-0 HD PS4/Xbox One game in March. The company updated the demo in June.
