New Core "Pokémon" RPG Planned for Switch in Second Half of 2019

Nintendo surprised everyone (except those who leaked the title) with the reveal of Pokémon Let's Go for Switch last night. If you're worried about this being the previously-teased core Switch entry in the series, though, don't fret. The new traditional Pokémon RPG is currently set for release sometime in the second half of 2019.

The Pokémon Company initially teased the Switch RPG during last year's E3, and they followed up with a little more info during last night's press conference. According to the Q&A, this will be a completely new game more in line with the long-running series of portable entries.

With  and , there are so many new ways to explore the world of Pokémon! Trainers can look forward to even more with an all-new core series Pokémon RPG title in development for the second half of 2019!

Stay tuned for more info on that one. In the meantime, Nintendo went ahead and released the new free-to-start Pokémon Quest on Switch. There's already plenty of paid DLC available, and iOS and Android versions are set to follow in late June.
