Appleseed α is a
prequel to
Masamune Shirow's science-fiction
Appleseed manga. The manga and CG-animated
film "depicts the early days of Deunan and Briareos in search of the legendary city of Olympus." Kuroda launched the series in Kodansha's
Morning Twomagazine in July and the first compiled volume will ship in Japan on Thursday.
The film shipped in North America with an English dub in July. Kodansha did not announce a release date for the manga in North America.
Maria the Virgin Witch Exhibition (Junketsu no MariaExhibition) sequel manga
ended in Japan on December 6 and the only compiled volume shipped in Japan earlier this month. Ishikawa began the manga in July after ending his
Maria the Virgin Witch, which
Kodansha USA also
licensed, in 2013. Ishikawa
launched the original manga in the inaugural issue of Kodansha's
good! Afternoon magazine in 2008.
Kodansha USA will release Maria the Virgin Witch Exhibition in August.
A television
anime of the original manga premiered this month and
Funimation is
streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
Fairy Girls is one of
two recent
Fairy Tail spinoff manga.
BOKU is drawing the series in Kodansha's
Magazine Special and it debuted on November 20. The
Fairy Girls story focuses on the two "strongest girls in the world" and stars Erza, Wendy, Lucy, and Juvia. Kodansha will release the first volume this fall.
Hiroaki Samura launched Die Wergelder in Kodansha's
Nemesis magazine in 2011, and the main story
endedlast year. The action story revolves around battles over money between three woman: a "passionate psychedelic revenger" named Nami, a "china dress-wearing killing machine" named Je-Mao, and a female gang leader named Shinobu Aza.
Kodansha USA will publish the first volume this fall.
Livingstone is a fantasy-adventure manga about two men named Sakurai and Amano who attempt to recover "livingstones," the receptacles of lost souls. The series runs in Kodansha's
Morning magazine and the third volume shipped in Japan in October. Kodansha will publish the first volume in North America in the fall.

Kodansha USA will release the first volume in North America in the fall.
The Science of Attack on Titan tie-in book by
Rikao Yanagita includes illustrations alongside facts about the universe of
Hajime Isayama's manga. Yanagita is an author and the self-proclaimed “executive director of the Fantasy Science Research Institute.” Kodansha will ship the book in June.
The North American publisher also announced it will release the
second volume in its
Attack on Titanmanga Colossal Edition omnibus line. The omnibus will contain volumes six to 10 for US$49.99. It will hit store shelves in September.
