Nintendo announced details for its Mario Party 10 Wii U game on Wednesday. The multiplayer game franchise will add Amiibo support in its latest installment. The "Amiibo Party Mode" lets players use their figures on special boards. The game's trailer notes that saved game data on an Amiibo must be deleted before saving new data from another compatible game.
Nintendo's official Amiibo website lists the following figures as compatible with the game: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Bowser, Rosalina, Donkey Kong, and Wario. The website lists both Super Mario versions and Super Smash Bros. versions. Players can use other figures to access "Scratch Bonus," which earns players points that can be used to buy in-game bonus content.
The game will also have "Mario Party" mode and "Bowser Party" modes. In the Bower Party mode, one player controls Bowser in mini-games against up to four other players.
Nintendo lists the game as the "first installment" for the Wii U. Mario Party 10 will go on sale in North America on March 20.
